You all are inventive - love your seasons! Paugus Bay Resident, bet the disruption to the roads by frost heaves was really noticeable.

As a side note and a minor digression, this weekend I'm driving Route 11 to Rochester and the place I dread more than anything is the section of road from Ellacoya down to Echo Shores (kind of West Alton to Alton). It passes that old train station amongst other things. It has been bad these last 3 years but this year, the heaves are worse than ever. I had hopes the state was going to pave it and it looked last fall like they had put on the leveling coat just before the paving process but they did absolutely nothing after that. You absolutely cannot go fast in there and by the time you ride through that area, you have shaken yourself to the core. Often wondered if you had a blender full of syrup and milk with you if you wouldn't end up with a milkshake afterwards. Please tell me that they are going to pave it some day. We got the Moultonborough Neck Road paved after many complaints to the state by a bunch of people - haven't others written in about that area too?

Have ya ever noticed that just before spring, there's this last burst of grumbles season (everybody fed up with winter) followed by a few days' season of anticipation, as all of a sudden the snow begins to recede, it's sunnier and oh so slightly warmer, and a baby crocus or daffodil pokes its little head up through the last few traces of snow?
