We read reviews on several websites (Amazon, HSN, Tiger Direct) before pulling the trigger and found it had great reviews. It's not as slim and sexy as plasma but I like it that it's more durable. We have young children and I prefer something that's not going to shatter when a Nerf dart hits it... . The price was well within our budget and it's bigger than I'd planned on but Argie is thrilled beyond measure. (Ask me if he's still thrilled after we re-arrange the living room!)
I think it will serve us well...
Our current TV is 7 years old and is an old CRT... it's seen better days.
