I recently bought a Condo in Laconia and I am planning on redoing the kitchen. Does anyone know if a permit is typically required to replace cabinets and coutntertop?

I am not changing the locations of the electrical or plumbing, just replacing cosmetics..

One thing I noticed is the hood above the electric stove does not vent outside. It's just a fan with a charcoal filter. Is this to code? Any problem keeping it that way? There is no way to vent outside as it's an inside wall.
