McCormick's
Floridian, I remember McCormick's. Worked at a summer camp for a number of summer's on the Neck Road, and McCormick's was an automatic stop on the way out. I remember there was no crushed ice in plastic bags back then. McCormick's had an ice house to the right of the store, with huge blocks of ice cut from the lake in the winter. Buried under a pile of sawdust. Chip your own ice and toss it in a bucket of water to wash off the sawdust, then into the cooler. All new to a Southern boy from North Carolina.
