It has been the most remarkable day here on Rattlesnake Island. At my camp there were a few large open areas that move around a bit.
I got a ride back to my friends' place after 5pm. We flew over the ice on the airboat...
As we were getting ready for dinner the wind picked up and the lake was on the move... large floes of ice went by and a quick pace and the lake just got wider and wider.
We were witness to ice-out. I know it is not officially out and there is still ice in lots of places... but the ice went out right before our eyes.
This picture is about 24 hours later than last nights sunset. You can see the huge difference.. no ice!
