Prime beef is sure worth an occaisional splurge but you have to watch the grading in supermarkets.......many use the term "premium" or "guaranteed angus" and they can be anything.
USDA only recognizes Prime,choice,select,standard,commercial and 3 other lower grades (mostly for TV dinners and pet food) I would ask the meat manager what the grade is if you're buying on of those grades that they dream up as marketing tools.
