I was bit by a Brown Recluse (Violin Spider). Never felt it, but had to go to the emergency room. Also pretty small.

Strange thing is, these little venomous spiders (Widows, Recluses) don't give me near the scare of seeing a monster dock spider at the Lake.
We're spoiled here in New England, being at the top of the food chain. After spending a bit of time working in rural Texas, I'm happy to live in a place where I don't have to shake my boots out before stepping into them for fear of black widows, brown recluses, scorpions, etc. Next time you curse our winters, think of that side benefit.
