Last Thanksgiving my son and son-in-law, both US Marines were overseas.

We spent the day with our daughter waiting for a call from her husband or her brother, which never happen.

Today she and her husband will spend it in California where he is now stationed.

We are with our son in North Carolina looking forward to dinner today with him and some of his friends who could not make it home for Thanksgiving.

The sad part of today is that he has only been home from the war since late May (six months) and he has orders to leave on 27 December for Afghanistan, on an individual augmentation assignment as a company commander.

Today will be a special day as we give thanks for the safe return of both our men and the safety for our son as he leaves again for war.
