While we moved in with my mom here in Alton back in 1996 to be with her through her last years, I couldn't be happier with our choice. We have reasonable taxes (in comparison with other towns in the area), and is central to travel to the seacoast, MA, Concord or Manchester, west to VT, or up to the mountains.
You can live on the lake, in the village, or away from the hustle and bustle of Alton
