In my experiance, most of the damage done to the docks is not done by solid ice but usually by ice flows driven by the wind. We did some "back of the envalope math" on what we thought would be a moving 20 acre "burg:" and figured that it weighed about as much as a WW-2 battleship. 'No stopping it.

With the ice just melting in place this year I expect that there will be little damage this year.Terrrific!
