there are several flavors of boating insurance, when you shop and compare make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
A lot of these cheap insurance companies rely on you not reading the fine print. So yes they save you money but many times you get far less coverage then you believe you have.
I also like to be over insured, I had my Baja insured for original replacement cost until I put it on consignment, then I dropped it to cover it for book value.
