Default Is it just me...

JP, you may be right, but I don't really see it as a problem, but more as a sympton in that a thread gets started, goes along for a bit, then the subject takes a turn off the main theme path, and the thread starts to talk about something else. After a bit, someone wants to return to the original subject so they start a new thread discussing the old original subject because it is easier than trying to steer the old original thread back to its roots (follow me?).

This happens, I think, basically for two main reasons, and probably a whole lot more lesser reasons, 1) a poster wants to get back to the original thread subject, but doesn't know how to make a posting which will do that, so he (or she) justs starts a new thread, and 2) a poster hasn't read then entire thread
and is not aware of what the thread actually started out to be, so he (or she)
just starts a new thread with his (or her) new idea.

The problem all this causes is that when a thread gets off course, the continuity of the message may get lost and posters may be confused as to what they are actually posting to. However, starting new threads every once and a while isn't all that bad, either, since sometimes a thread gets too long to be able to be coherent from end to end.

Okay, I've had my say, and please, somebody put me out of my misery.
