I was never in the Military. Though being the son of a Marine Corps Drill instructor I pretty much might as well have been. In my past life though, I did quite a bit of work with the Military in Aviation support roles. I was one of the only Civilians at Hanscom AFB that could do any support work for HMX1 and also did quite a bit of avionics work on Apache, Sikorsky UH-3H Sea King, and Pave Lows. A little work on Hueys but those were getting fairly old and not many came in there except Guard work. I got to see the Stealth up close way before it was allowed, and I was also one of only 5 of the Top Secret cleared Civilians to be able to go aboard Air Force One and go inside the avionics bays and electronics vaults which was pretty cool. So you can see I have a fair bit of respect for the Men and Women that keep the Military ticking along with the pride that they show everyday. God Bless and Keep them.
