Yes, we are all entitled to our personal opinions. And IMHO I wish there were fewer McMansions. For example, on our cove several years ago someone bought two lots, tore down the existing family camp, cut down the lion's share of the trees right to the water's edge (paid a fine to the town for doing so but no big deal,) built a McMansion with a helicopter pad, and now flies in and out on his chopper.

Another example is my sister-in-law's family on the water in Gilford. Their camp has been in their family for practically 100 years, now pretty much the same as it was back then. The current owners really wish that their grandparents had not sold the abutting land because they are now surrounded by McMansions.

And what say you about all the screamin' green lawns of those mighty big houses? The impact of all that fertilizer going into the lake every year has a huge effect. Hmmmm.......


And those of us who feel this way -- and there are LOTS of us -- are just as much entitled to our opinions and to express those opinions as anyone else is.
