I've been accused of questioning the validity of topics in the past also. Having been a moderator of a forum, I know how hard it can be to draw a line. When exceptions are allowed they can often be used to justify later ones and the forum can quickly spin into dark, opposing discussions on topics far afield from the original intent of the forum.

When I first saw this post, I too had a momentary thought that it shouldn't be here. But I quickly reached the place that others have stated. This is an exceptional event that deeply affects us all. In some way, most of us are grieving about this, and discussing it with others helps the healing process.

In closing, I share a message from my sister-in-law, a mother of twins. I think she sums up well how any parent is feeling today,

Tonight I watched the news and felt such overwhelming pain. With tears I hugged my sons. They said it's okay mom, we are alright.. But I was hugging them for all those moms of 5 year olds who will never be able to hug their children when they are 15..."
