Red face Thank You...

For your continued support. We are still finding it very difficult to wrap our minds around the fact that we only had her for two years and two months. We are thankful to have had such a fine girl in our lives and wouldn't change a thing. It was a great relief that her illness was not contagious to our boy.

Harry is really missing his sister and seems to get nervous when I leave the house, watching from Bailey's old perch perch. Next week I plan to bring him for a half day of doggie daycare. A half blood sister will be in Harry's future, perhaps in the spring.

The following is the closest thing to a diagnosis that my vet can come up with:
Celia. I asked for the testing results, and unfortunately I don't think those can help us get to a final diagnosis either. As for the lepto panel, her titers were consistent with a vaccinated dog (which she was one month prior, so she would have reasonable titers to the serovars that were high normal). Her bile acids were very elevated, which only tells us that the liver was servely damaged, and not doing it's job. At this time, her diagnosis remains rather vague of acute hepatitis. I continue to suspect that this was a severe gall bladder infection/possilbe eventual rupture, unfortunately we will never know for certain. I'm gald to hear that you are willling to open your hearts to another dog when the time is right.
