Feb is absolutely correct. The timeframe for your trip falls precicely on the days when the Nextel Cup teams and fans will be here. Teams arrive on Thursday and check out on Sunday morning, with the race itself taking place Sunday afternoon. As a general rule, the September race does not draw as large a number as the July race, but locating a room in the more congested areas of the lake could be a bit of a challenge!

Keeping this in mind, you may want to concentrate on accomodations in Wolfeboro, Moultonboro, Tuftonboro, etc. That side of the lake is likely to be much less crowded that weekend, due to it's distance from the track. Meredith, Weirs Beach and Gilford are all prized by teams and fans because of their ease of access to the track.
