Default Dock Maintainence

I replaced my floating dock last year with a nice aluminum dock . This year the aluminum post seemed to have a heavy growth of slimy moss/algae on them. What is the best way to get these cleaned.

Our lake gets lowered in October, so I can work on it then.

Also, I have a wood pier built into the sea wall. I need to replace some boards on that as well. Should I use pressure treated ? Or just some pine or other type wood ?

One last question, on the wood, should I use something like Thompson deck sealer on it, should I do both sides ?

Thanks,
Phil
