..... an aluminum boat?
That looks like an all-aluminum boat with two Yamaha four-stroke outboards, that is welded construction as opposed to riveted construction, which is un-painted; pretty unusual to see this as most boats that size, about 28', with the exception of the NH Marine Patrol boats, are all made of fiberglass. So why would Garmin go with an aluminum boat like that when there are so, so many used fiberglass boats for sale in the classified ads everywhere? What could be the reasons why Garmin choose to go aluminum like that? Aluminum vs fiberglass ..... someone at Garmin made the decision to buy aluminum and not fiberglass and place their name on it. Like, what could they be thinking? Except for the Marine Patrol, which has 27' welded aluminum police boats painted dark gray, it is very unusual to see an un-painted aluminum boat like that on Lake Winnipesaukee. Most all boats that big on this lake are fiberglass.
So, how long will an aluminum boat like that last in the slightly acidic waters of Lake Winnipesaukee ........ oh ....... maybe 100-years or more ....after all....the Mount Washington is made of 1885 iron .....isn't it?
