Even McDonalds is closed on Christmas Day! Pick up a premade meal or, better yet, impress your grandparents by putting a turkey in the oven Christmas morning. That baby will be ready by early afternoon, and the house will smell like heaven. No one has to go out in the cold, and you get to gather around the table in your own home. Sounds better than any restaurant meal to me. Merry Christmas!

My sister in law, not having anyone at home nor family in the area, used to work at a restaurant that was open on Christmas. She, and others, volunteered to work, either because they didn't have family or because they were paid overtime. Plus, once the restaurant closed, they sat down and had a nice meal with friends (the workers)

. I'm sure that they did not cook a substandard meal that they were going to eat. Nor would an establishment risk bad publicity over a meal on Christmas that would have an effect on the rest of the meals the restaurant serves during the rest of the year.
I think you may be a little off base on this one.
