I rode the Lake on Saturday and it was hard and fast. Some areas had some snow cover that would cool the machine, but I did have trouble overheating and needed to stop a number of times allowing the machine to cool down.

I had no problems with the sliders, but it gets old very fast stopping every 5 or ten minutes trying to get some granular snow on the heat exchanger.

When the trails soften up there is enough snow for cooling, and if you hit the Lake after riding the trails and stayed at a reasonable speed you should be able to get out to the island. I had no overheating issues while on the trails.
