When I was stationed up in AK when I first went into the USAF, they had an aero club who gave flight lessons. I had enough money to get married (just barely) or learn to fly. Still have the wife after 43 years, still don't know how to fly.
However, I was an air traffic controller for over 14 years, 8 USAF and 6+ with the FAA. Hence, a little knowledge about aviation... probably enough to get myself into trouble, and maybe get myself out of it.
If it was up to me, like Rusty said, crank it up. If the engine runs smooth, taxi for a bit and if it doesn't bounce around like a 53 Chev pickup with a flat tire, set the transponder to 1200, give a holler on 122.8 and give it a go. Heck, Lawrence Muni can't be that far away, right?
(Did I just make a post that sounded like FLL wrote it???? Oh my gawd!!!!
