We have different issues with each of the three propane fireplaces we have.
In the first case, the fireplace lights but emits a strong smell. Had propane company look at it- they re-positioned the logs but it still smells.
In the second it starts fine and then 5-10minutes later shuts off. Sometimes it re-starts itself and other times I have to turn off the switch and then re-start. It also puts soot on the front facing of the fireplace.
In the third case - the fireplace is completely enclosed in glass. When it starts- it gives such a pop- you think it may blow out the glass but then quickly returns to normal and no problem after that
I bet this is more than you wanted to know - but that is the case. We had energy savers here last fall - no luck //then the propane company- no luck
