Yes, there are various self storage unit warehouses in the Lakes Region. We chose a 10' x 10' at Landmark Self Storage across the street from the Laconia Police Dept.. The unit is inside and heated and rents for a little over $100 per month on auto billing. We have had it for 2 years or so and have been very satisfied. And the Water Street Café is also just down the street- good food as well.
As far as towns go, we moved to Gilford from South Florida 2 years ago and have never regretted it- only wish we had moved here sooner. Gilford has a great public library, with free foreign films once a month, as well as lots of other resources. Good police dept. as well.
