And this isn't even a Lakes Region problem. I know first hand that Cedar Point amusement park's need for seasonal workers far exceeds the 80,000 people living in the Sandusky area. They recruit in most midwest states and internationally.

I think you hit the nail on the head, there aren't enough off season jobs in the area to support all the workers it takes to support the on season. I don't particularly like it, but that is just my small town viewpoint
