The Lakes Region Humane Society serves the communities of Wolfeboro, Tuftonboro, Ossipee, Tamworth, Effingham, and Freedom. The society recently purchased a farm house in Ossipee and is renovating it to be Pet-friendly. Their current location in Tuftonboro is not insulated and the cost of heating the building this winter has the society looking to find temporary homes for all its inhabitants. They could use help with placement of animals (permanent or temporary) and donations. Check their web site at www.lrhs.net or visit them in Tuftonboro before the deep winter sets in. On a personal note, their cats are some of the best. I have one.
