We built with propane as at the time was the most energy efficient way to heat the home. Plus figure in the annual burner cleaning and occasional fire pit replacement that comes with oil heat.
I wouldn't call it a McMansion, but it's a nice home, nearly 4000 square feet. We love it in SD/Long Bay!
