In the northern part of the lake there's an encampment that hasn't deviated from tradition in over 100 years, the art of skinny dipping hasn't undergome any new invention other than electricity! (Where the opposite sex can turn on the floodlight). I can't speak to the art prior to 50 years ago, but it must be quite the same as it was learned from long ago. Proceed to the lake's edge, onto the wharf, with towel wrapped securely, AND JUMP into the lake leaving said towel chucked onto the dock. It isn't so much an art of skinny dipping but making sure the towel lands on the dock, and you have something to towel yourself off, (and hide behind) when you exit the water. At least that's the way we do it in on the Moultonborough side of Centre Harbor.
