For those who have docks damaged by ice, if you have a recent dock repair permit and your dock was damaged again you may be able to use the same permit. Just make certain of two things: 1) that the permit has not expired, and 2) that the permit originally covered the same structures that were damaged this year.

Also and very important, if you have a permit that reads "Repair..." or "Repair and maintain..." and it is about to expire do not miss the deadline to extend it. You can extend these permits once for an additional 5 years but the extension request needs to be filed before the permit expires. You can find the request form on the NH DES Wetlands website.

It should be noted that this can be valid for dock and wall repairs but does not work for beach replenishment permits which have a specific condition stating they can only be used for a single replenishment.
