Thanks IG! All of it interesting.

I believe the 2012 data reinforces some of the evolution of the internet. In general (not just this site), the use of forums, and their relative novelty and newness, peaked about 2012. After that, it became similar to the old network TV model, the audience became more fragmented and diverse.

Devices moved from almost all PC to one with smart phones, tablets, pc's, etc. Facebook exploded, Twitter, Instagram, etc., all started to divert attention from what used to be almost exclusively a forum world.

While still one of my favorite pastimes, the forums no longer seem to capture the audiences that they used to.
