Yup. I had a slider box but I extended the cable and ran it next to the couch. I had a tv in my bedroom with push buttons that didn't need a box but it was not a remote control. I used a pool cue with my foot as a bridge and pushed the channels up and down. That was way more difficult than the slider box.
