My community is on Paugus Bay. My boat is moored there. On summer weekend days, the boat wakes have it bobbing up and down all day.
I found kayaking to be uncomfortable in these conditions. While I have never been on a SUP, I suspect that it is more challenging to keep upright.
I like Paugus Bay for tubing and others do too, thus the wakes.
