Now need to practice what I preach
Thank you to all who have mentioned our restaurant as a gluten-free friendly establishment. Our passion for accommodating dietary needs is consequent of my mother's needs. She has multiple sclerosis and has been able to control exacerbations with diet.
The past seven years have provided me with an abundance of applause from others who have to control their diet for one reason or another. On a number of occasions I've actually witnessed tears of joy from those who were expressing their gratitude, but it wasn't until recently that I really understood why.
I'm about halfway through my third week of treatment for lyme disease. Glutens, sugar, alcohol, and redmeat all eliminated from my diet per Dr.'s orders. Yes I can eat well at home (my own restaurant) however I now have a better understanding of how challenging it is to dine out.
I won't take the time to list the restaurants that have disappointed me with their options, but I certainly want to take a moment to make mention of the awesome chicken tenders at Patrick's pub in Guilford.
Hopefully my treatment won't last much longer but until it's over i'm likely to sneak out a few more times to enjoy those tenders. Thank you Patrick's
