Glad we made the decision
In retrospect, I think that Alton Parks & Rec made a really good decision. The ice certainly has its thin spots still out there, and there is very little traction for walking on the ice. And with the temps in the twenty's with a fairly steady breeze, wind chills would be down to the single numbers --- not a good thing for standing around on the open bay.
Ice was still too thin to think about bringing in the planes for the fly in, and with no snow cover over the top of the ice, there would be little or no control for steering the planes.
Hated to see it get cancelled, but life's too short, and there is always next year!!!!!!
