Here, we get both
waves and wakes; by far,
wakes are the most destructive.
In keeping with this Winnipesaukee "floaters" thread, last week, I captured a
third piece of heavy wood debris—a 2"x10"x8' plank.
"Repurposed" within a few feet—and placed upright—as in the photograph below, I expected it would be a good deflector of oversized boat wakes. Eventually, the weekend wakes that rebound from shoreline rocks to soak the dock were still able to splash over-and-under that 10-inch board.
(Also rebounding through dock boards
not affected by the rocky shoreline).
