Default August Lake Temperature

The Broads was wild today. Leaving Wolfeboro Bay, we were rockin' and rollin'. We ducked behind and around Diamond Island and continued to The Lady of the Lake where we enjoyed our first dive of the day. Temperature on the deck of "The Lady" was 70. The thermocline was at about 28 feet. Several good sized small mouth bass and a bunch of rock bass were seen.

We dove the circular rock pile (Abrams Rock) in Wilder's Cove (near Rum Pt in Alton) as our second dive. The first thermocline was at 47 feet. Temp above was 70, below was about 64. Typical at this site at this time of year. In contrast, the temp at 45 feet last Sunday on the Pile Driver Barge in Weirs Bay was 50. Also typical for this time of year.

Rough as it was, it was a great day to be on and under the water of Lake Winni.
