I agree, a slip this year is much harder to find than a boat.

A 38' Chris Craft on A Dock, asking $70,000,
and a 38' Carver on D Dock, asking $45,000.

Buying through a broker/marina will probably help you find a slip for the first year, but it may not be geographically where you want to be.
