There is no contract so they cannot charge a 10% late fee. If I were you I would send them what you think is fair (250.00?). If they want more then let them try to come after you. Don’t be scared by idle threats as they are just trying to get you to pay the entire bill. For 200.00 they are not going to hire a lawyer and sue you or even take you to small claims court it’s just not cost effective
