Question Red Squirrels—Better Swimmers?

The last "swimming squirrel" I can recall on this forum was a Red Squirrel that struck out for a shoreline that was a ½-mile distant!

That squirrel returned to discouraging warnings from squirrel-mates, but how did that squirrel find the same shoreline tree he'd left three months earlier?
