Recollect the tail markings? Likely was a large black 'MA'. This would be from the 104th Fighter Wind from Barnes Airport in Westfield.
If 'CT', from the 103rd at Bradley.

My unit greeted the Barnestormers when they arrived from Aviano at 2:00AM one morning after having deployed to support peacekeepers in Serbia. Quite a few patches in their planes from groundfire since low and slow is their life.

The 104thFW was the best unit I ever has the pleasure of being associated with.
