Consider buying an RV; you can travel when and to where you wish, and stay for extended periods at one spot if you wish (flexibility).
Otherwise I personally would never want to live in Florida as I hate the high humidity.
Viable options abound in the desert SW, e.g. Bullhead City or Yuma Az.
