$1,700 in unexpected repair cost is not trivial.

The decision to repair or replace is heavily influenced by current sky high used car prices and a potential long wait for a new one.

If financing, it doesn't take many of today's car payments to get to $1,700.

My Subarus have been good to me.

After the warranty is up they go to my daughter and sons.

So far they have three of them well over 100k miles with no significant expenses.
