I have often wondered how long it would take to clear out 100,000 people, with a big race ending about 4pm. Last night the southbound Rt 93 detour was still in place at 9:30pm, but traffic moved well until just before the rest area. From there to the toll booth it was backed up and slow, but opened up after the toll. Maybe another 30 minutes would clear out the toll booth backup. So, about 6 hours to clear out the race fans.
It was a great day to stay at the lake late and miss most of the traffic. There won't be many of those weekends left this year!
