Question Type of Anchor? Type of Boat?

Two "dry" methods:

1) Secure the anchor line to the bow. Have everyone on board move to the bow and tie it as tight as possible. Then have everyone move to the stern. If the anchor can be freed at all, this is a good start.

2) From your 20-foot depth, deal out 30-feet of rope. With your boat in reverse, make a big circle around where it's stuck. After a few circles, hand out more rope: repeat until you feel the anchor come free.

Note:
Both methods work best with conventional boat designs. A PWC would need to experiment.

Method #1 works really well with pontoon boats.

A Danforth anchor design may bend out of shape in the case of large rocks.

(Danforths are a bear to straighten out!)
