They've figured it out, ours is quiet.
My favorite dishwasher is the Fisher Paykel Dish Drawers. Two independent drawers, one on top of the other, that each hold about 60-70% of a normal dishwasher. So you get huge capacity, and also the flexibility to run less than a full load
