If its within 150 ft of the water you can't grind it down in Moultonboro, new law. Pretty soon chipping branches will be against the law too, because everyone knows that once you cut down a tree, another one never grows in its place at least according to the tree huggers.

Another case of not enforcing the laws you have then reacting with ridiculous laws that make the simple act of maintaining a property a bureaucratic nightmare.

Sorry about the rant, my advice is just do it and don't worry about it, I rented a chipper before from the lumber yard in Meredith **Wickes***, behind the train station, they may rent a stump grinder also.
