Long story: The 4Runner was a perfect vehicle for 6 years and 137,000 miles, but a friend of mine took me for a drive in his top-down/doors off Wrangler back in late May, and I was reminded of how much I enjoyed my 2010 Wrangler and other convertible vehicles.

The problem is that the Wrangler with soft top is imperfect for rear access, is too small for me, and drives horribly, which is why I'd sworn it off and went with the 4Runner.

The Bronco is a pretty incredible vehicle: it drives almost as nicely as my 4Runner, has almost as much room, has an awesome dash layout and transmission/engine matchup, and is, well, just a blast to drive. The culture is pretty cool, too.

It's essentially a convertible 4Runner (though reliability will be the big variable).

* I originally planned on ordering a 6th Gen 4Runner, but when I saw the style, that they were going to turbo 4's, and that the console screen was high and at an angle, which annoys me, I began looking elsewhere. The plan is to see how things go with this Bronco and, if not awesome, to trade in on a second or third year 4Runner.
