No need for Uber in the lakes region is why it does not exist here. Half the people are millionaires driving 40-thousand dollar cars/trucks and the other half are very mechanical and have some way cool older vehicle with vent windows, 4-speed stick and ac that works great.
Holding up a sign at Rt 3-Meredith Town Docks that says; "Islander Need ride - Rt 104 Texas BBQ - $2." and you'll get a ride very fast from someone. Could be anyone, but people will stop if you look like a safe bet. Half the people will refuse the two dollars like it could be an 85-year old guy driving a huge 2005 Lincoln who takes you there and refuses the two bucks or anyone ...... ha-ha-ha .....
