The lake is 2.5" lower than the long term average for this time of year. The dam output is at a minimum. I would not see this as a serious issue yet. No, we haven't had significant rainfall for a while but, rainfall tends to balance out over time. Further, temps are expected to drop by Friday, reducing evaporation. The average lake level continues to drop through the Fall.

Every fall, smart boaters are aware that rocks and shallow areas that were not a concern during the summer are now something to be aware of and the problem gets worse through the Fall season. It's a fact of life on Winnipesaukee.
