Red Pine is sought after by craftsmen for wood projects. White pine is sought after by flatlanders for outdoor campfires. Both have needles 3-4 inches long. Red Pine grow needles in clusters of three.
Both should find a home with "free".
Hemlock has needles less than a half-inch long and and not good for much.
I cut them into lengths that fit my wood stove, and for the next couple of years, become the last log put in the wood stove for the night. By morning, there is still enough heat and the embers are glowing enough to refresh a fire quickly.
Otherwise, if you have a soggy spot on your lot, roll them into it, and "grow" Red-Stripe Salamanders!
